About the role :As GM Financial Credit Manager is responsible for assisting the GMF Regional Credit Manager in managing credit functions and indirect business activity for GM dealers assigned to the credit center. The position is responsible for training Credit Analysts on credit policies, underwriting processes, General Motors and GM Financial program information, and contract negotiations. Responsible for collaborating with Sales, Funding and other support departmentQuickly adapt and lead Credit Analysts through organizational change

- Provide guidance to Credit Analyst in creating an environment for success
- Set clear expectations for performance and hold team members accountable for the results
- Provide timely feedback, training and coaching to Credit Analysts
- Oversee development, maintenance of dealer relationships that ensure volume objectives and credit quality
- Review credit exceptions and determine their approval or denial within credit authority established
- Ensure that profitability measures and key performance indicators are held to company policies
- Recommend decisions to RCM on approvals outside credit authority
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures
- Offer support and training to branch personnel as needed in the credit decision process, negotiating, and interpreting credit policies
- Collaborate with Sales
What makes you an ideal candidate?
- Advanced knowledge of indirect retail auto financing, including dealer-driven credit, funding, and booking processes
- Strong understanding of company credit policies and consumer credit underwriting principles
- Extensive knowledge of the retail automobile finance industry and the broader consumer finance/banking environment
- Solid working knowledge of federal and state regulations, consumer credit laws, and compliance requirements
- Expertise in motor vehicle retail installment contracts and funding documentation
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive dealer relationships through effective sales and customer engagement
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced, high-volume environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams, while professionally representing GM Financial
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement
- 2-4 years supervisory experience preferred
- 3-5 years underwriting experience in the indirect retail auto finance industry and experience with GM Financial preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
