Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Facility Maintenance Technician / Building Maintenance Technician to support commercial facilities in Livonia, Michigan. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in general building maintenance, handyman work, or facility repair.
The role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks to keep commercial buildings operating safely and efficiently. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and handling multiple types of repair work.
Responsibilities
- Perform light plumbing repairs such as faucets, drains, and minor leaks
- Drywall repair and patching
- Interior and exterior painting
- Minor electrical work such as replacing outlets, switches, and light fixtures
- General building repairs and preventative maintenance
- Basic carpentry repairs and hardware installation
- Door, lock, and handle repair or replacement
- Ceiling tile replacement
- Fixture installation and minor building upgrades
- Respond to maintenance service requests
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Identify and report building maintenance or safety issues
Requirements
- Experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, handyman services, or related trades
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete basic repairs independently
- Must have basic hand tools required for general maintenance work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to manage assigned tasks and work independently
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work on commercial job sites
- Must report to work free from the smell of marijuana or other strong smoke odors
Schedule
- This position is a 1099 independent contractor role with full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week).
- 1st shift and 2nd shift available
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
