Clerk of Superior Court
JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides clerical and administrative support for the operations of the court office. An incumbent in this position may be designated Senior Deputy Court Clerk.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Provides clerical and customer service support for civil division functions as assigned; enters complaints, petitions, summonses, and motions in the case management system; reviews and prepares cases for court; reviews case files for accuracy and completeness; processes garnishment payments and maintains related records; executes post-judgment processes by recording court decisions and issuing subsequent legal actions such as writs and notices.
- Provides clerical and customer service support for criminal division functions as assigned; reviews, prepares, files, assigns, and dockets new motions for preliminary and bond hearings; enters case information into case management software system; prepares calendars; provides support for warrant application hearings; prepares and processes warrants, obtains signatures, and provides warrants to the Sheriff’s Office; receives and intakes citations from a variety of government agencies, receives and processes pleadings; enters dispositions.
- Processes appeals for submission to the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals as assigned; assembles documents and makes copies; prepares certificate and submits bills to requesting attorneys; receives payments; types indexes for appeals and submits to court portal.
- Processes dispossessory filings as assigned; receives and processes affidavits from landlords; prepares case files and ensures completeness; coordinates the service of dispossessory filings with the Sheriff’s Office; manages tenant responses; schedules hearings and attends court
- Provides clerical and customer service support for property division operations as assigned; reviews and records property records, including deeds, liens, and other documents; assists the public in locating property records; processes passport applications; runs a variety of reports.
- Provides clerical and customer service support for the work of the Board of Equalization as assigned; processes the appointment of board members; maintains rosters and schedules training; schedules hearings and prepares related documentation; corresponds with taxpayers regarding board policies, procedures, meeting schedules, and hearing outcomes.
- Performs related duties.

Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
