The Shipping & Receiving Lead responsibilities include preparing, receiving, inspecting, and putting away freight. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Applicants must be well-organized with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing situations. Applicants will also help in other areas of the warehouse when needed. We are in Provo, Utah.
About the role:
The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for performing all shipping, receiving, inspection, and work with contract freight carriers. The Shipping & Receiving Lead Will also take delivery of incoming shipments of products, organize, and prepare merchandise for delivery. Examines items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in shipping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
· Prepares items for shipments and is responsible for the flow of raw material and components through various parts of the supply chain and under the direction of and in support of procurement.
· Coordinates quality inspections and releases for incoming products, BOLs, and packing slips.
· Validates and enters received products that are on and offsite into ERP system.
· Will work with other departments to ensure both internal and external customer satisfaction.
· Assist, maintain, and reconcile inventory accuracy of raw material and components in all warehouses.
· Fulfill product transfer orders and work orders for all warehouses.
· Communicates effectively with other departments and specifically accounting to ensure all shipments and documents are accurately received.
· Provides administrative support for receiving trucks, loading, and unloading product(s).
· Stock the warehouse with appropriate products and consumables as needed.
· Responsible to retain and update offsite location contact information and track offsite inventory using Excel or other proprietary systems.
· Documents and communicates damaged shipments to Operations Manager to ensure the appropriate returns and credits are issued.
· Maintain the receiving schedule and will be responsible for tracking offsite inventory.
· Collaborates with outside freight forwarding agents to quote and arrange inbound and outbound freight.
· This role coordinates with other functional staff, including customer service, logistics, and planning and may be delegated additional tasks by the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma required.
· This position will require you to perform basic math, reading and writing as well as basic computer skills.
· The position will be required to demonstrate an ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, departments, vendors, and candidates.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and advanced computer literacy is required.
· Proficient in excel.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Must have or be able to “Safe to Lift” course.
· Must feel comfortable operating a pallet jack and forklift.
· Knowledge and experience using Warehouse Management Software is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
· Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity.
· 50% or more sitting, 50% or more walking, and 40% or more standing.
· The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a warehousing environment.
· Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 40 lbs. is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
