GlycoT Therapeutics applies its innovative and proprietary chemoenzymatic platform technology for glycoengineering of antibodies and production of site-specific antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for enhanced therapeutic efficacy. It has successfully out-licensed its technology to major pharmaceutical and publicly traded companies for the development of novel therapeutics or diagnostic products. Currently R&D projects are supported by SBIR grants and other funds. Our company is currently located in the bwtech@UMBC Research and Technology Park on the UMBC south campus in Baltimore. We are seeking a full-time, self-motivated and detail-orientated research scientist who can carry out independent research.
Job description:
- Design, cloning, expression, purification, and characterization of glyco-enzymes and their mutants from E. coli.
- Immobilization of glyco-enzymes and test of their activity and other biochemical properties.
- Chemoenzymatic glycoengineering of antibody and other glycoproteins.
- Preparation and characterization of antibody-drug conjugates.
- Mammalian cell culture, cell-based assay.
- Limited administrative duty.
Essential Requirements:
- BS, MS, or PhD degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or molecular biology;
1–5-year experience in recombinant protein technology, enzymology, and/or glycobiology.
- Solid hands-on experience with molecular cloning, protein expression, purification and characterization.
- Excellent knowledge of lab safety; keeping clear and complete records of experiments and data.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
