- Manage vendor accounts
- Reconcile assigned ledger accounts monthly
- Assist team to ensure monthly closing deadlines are met
- Serve as a subject matter expert in areas of accounts payable, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Leverage knowledge of job cost, subcontracts payable structures
- Supervise check runs, including coordinating with other team members and leadership for final review and release
- Research open items and propose relevant solutions
- Prepare periodic state and local tax reporting
- Assist in preparation of corporate budgets
- Supervise, mentor and train Accounting Clerk(s)
- Provide backup services to corporate accounting team
- Accomplish accounting objectives by orienting, training and mentoring employees on standard accounting procedures, policies and effective communication.
- Identify efficiencies in financial processes and recommend improvements that increase overall accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness
- Effectively communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders
- Support and encourage a positive work environment
- Demonstrate a strong interest in continuous learning and improvement
what it takes
- 2 or 4 year degree in Accounting or related field
- 4 or more years accounting experience in the construction industry or similar environment
- Or an equivalent combination of the above
- Solid leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software strongly preferred
- Excellent organization skills and strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 and represents a range of experience from 2 to 5 years.
