We are currently seeking an Automation Technician/PLC Programmer for our West Texas/New Mexico operations. Local candidates are preferred, but we are open to hiring non-local candidates to work on a 2:1 rotation.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain PLC programs for Allen Bradley MicroLogix and ControlLogix platforms.
- Create and maintain HMI programs for Allen Bradley FactoryTalk and Controlled Components Workbench applications.
- Read and interpret technical documentation (P&IDs, ladder logic, function block code, schematics, loop sheets, manuals, etc).
- Define Analog & Digital I/O designs and documentation.
- Modbus communication protocol programming.
- Troubleshoot and calibrate field sensors including wiring and configuration (flow, temperature, pressure, and level devices).
- Willingness to travel.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
2 years’ experience in the following:
- Experience programming PLC units, HMI panels, and SCADA networking equipment.
- Allen Bradley, ScadaPak, Idec, Modicon PLC programming.
- Experience with Maple Systems, Beijer, IDEC HMI's highly preferred.
- Experience configuring Oil & Gas industry instrumentation and tank monitoring process control equipment.
- Experience with constant customer communication, weekly status reports, and project timelines required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems and software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a group setting, team-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven.
Preferred Qualifications (Non-Essential):
- Knowledge of other PLC platforms: SCADAPack, Idec, Modicon, Seimens
- Knowledge of Emerson ROC 800 and 107
- Knowledge of Totalflow XRC and RMC Meters
- Develop and maintain SCADA communications and networking equipment.
- Supporting development of software standards for modular, scalable, reusable solutions.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
