What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer In Training position at GLS | Architecture-Engineering-Surveying?
Civil EIT will work as a member of a project team to perform civil engineering and design duties for projects that include: water systems, sewer systems, roadways and/or drainage. Assignments will be closely supervised and are designed to further develop employee's job knowledge and abilities including: engineering design plans, calculations and reports, project scheduling, project budgeting, cost estimating, project management/coordination, interface with clients and interface with contractors.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop civil engineering projects, including site plans, grading plans, storm water management systems and roadway designs.
- Prepare engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct field inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design standards.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Perform engineering calculations and analyses.
- Working towards a Professional Engineering license in the State of Texas.
- Work closely with project managers to establish project timelines and designs.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an ABET accredited university working towards a bachelor's degree or higher in ABET accredited Engineering degree.
- Maintains an Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate in the State of Texas.
- Basic knowledge of Civil Engineering design.
- Individual should have a strong work ethic and ownership of projects and be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and balance work load.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
