Qualifications

·You MUST clear a background check, have a valid driver's license, a smartphone, and VERY reliable transportation to get to work on your own.

·Ability to pass a drug screening.

·Must be at least 22 years or older and have the valid license for at least 3 years with Clean driving record: no history of citations, moving violations or suspensions within the last 5 years.

·Prefer 1 full year of commercial driving experience that can be verified with the last 3 years.

·Must be able to stand, drive and lift trash cans during entire work shift.

·This is a Non-CDL Trash truck driver position. This is a fast-paced, physical position that requires the ability to lift up to 90 lbs, as well as empty residential trash in inclement weather climbing in and out of truck, as well as consistent physical movement to collect full trash cans from residences.

·Workers should be able to: read road maps; Practice good safety habits; Work in dusty or dirty surroundings; Follow instructions and meet set standards; Judge distances and slopes accurately; and make decisions based on verifiable standards.

·Physically, workers must be able to: Stoop, bend, and crouch; Use hands, arms, and legs fully; See well (either naturally or with correction); and lift up to 90 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objective or trash cans weighing up to 90 pounds.

Individuals who fail to appear for scheduled interviews will be reported to the Virginia Employment Commission.

Responsibilities

·Arrive to work on time when scheduled.

·Assist other drivers as directed by dispatcher or fleet manager.

·Operates vehicle in a safe manner, maintains vehicle cleanliness, and reports malfunctions and hazardous conditions to managers.

·Observes all traffic laws and posted speed limits.

·Ensure accurate trash collections on the assigned route sheet & excellent customer service.

·Dump truck and drivers transport and dump nonhazardous household waste.

·Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt body and dump contents Moves hand and foot controls to jerk truck forward and backward to loosen and dump material adhering to body.

·Expected to work 40 hours a week or until assigned tasks are completed.
