Glossier seeks an exceptional Quality Engineer to join our Product Quality and Technical Excellence team. This position improves the business by leading root cause analyses, implementing corrective and preventive actions, improving quality systems, managing quality awareness, and establishing/maintaining key liaisons with internal business partners such as Supply Chain, Product Development and Packaging Development and contract manufacturers. As champions of quality assurance and control in the cosmetics industry, this role demands unparalleled quality technical expertise, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a steadfast commitment to driving product safety and excellence. This role will report into the Director, Product Quality and Technical Excellence.
Six Months Expectations
- Directly oversee and approve sample submissions from contract manufacturers, evaluating diverse product aspects such as formula, packaging, and finished goods.
- Perform product evaluation for Color, Odor, Texture and Appearance.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development and Packaging Development, ensuring cohesive and unified feedback.
- Monitor and review Production documentation. Submit samples to cross-functional teams as required. Store and maintain retained samples.
- Develop and implement SOPs, Test Methods, One-Point Lessons and Rework Instructions.
- Handle failed inspections, complaints, waivers, and swiftly initiating corrective actions focusing especially on root cause analyses with contract manufacturers.
- Engage cross-functional teams to facilitate comprehensive investigations, ensuring robust root cause analyses and effective corrective action plans.
- Apply systematic problem-solving techniques to effectively manage and resolve quality challenges.
Twelve Months Expectations
- Deliver unmatched Quality engineering support, emphasizing the consistent application of quality methodologies.
- Lead quality improvement projects with the primary goal of enhancing our quality management system and elevating product quality.
- Lead special projects as required, emphasizing process improvements, cost efficiencies, and consumer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. Chemical Engineering is especially desirable.
- 4 years in Quality Assurance/Control within the cosmetics, beauty industry.
- Certifications: ASQ (CQE or CQT), Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, and other Quality-related certifications are advantageous.
- Demonstrated proficiency with product testing, Good Manufacturing Practices, Lean Six Sigma, and FDA GMP regulations.
- A proven ability to diagnose issues, devise solutions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional written and verbal skills, capable of fostering collaboration across teams and effectively presenting data-driven insights.
- Experience handling multiple contract manufacturers and an understanding of industry-leading manufacturing practices.
- This role will be required to be in office 3 days a week and travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
In accordance with the applicable law, the following represents a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation range for this position:
- The estimated annual pay range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000.

Compensation for the role will be determined based on permissible, non discriminatory factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
