The barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages to customers. They must be knowledgeable about different types of coffee and tea, as well as various preparation methods. The barista must also be able to work quickly and efficiently to maintain the flow of customers and ensure timely service. The role requires excellent customer service skills, a friendly demeanor, and a passion for creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to customers
• Explain the different types of coffee and tea and their preparation methods to customers
• Grind and brew coffee, and prepare other ingredients for drinks
• Maintain clean and organized work area, including equipment and utensils
• Keep track of inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and courteously
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions and menu items
• Follow health and safety guidelines for food and beverage preparation and service

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience as a barista or in a customer service role is preferred BUT NOT REQUIRED
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed
• Basic math skills for handling cash and credit card transactions

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
• Ability to bend, twist, and reach to access equipment and supplies

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
