General Purpose:
Support the Supply Chain Planning department in the day-to-day operation of transporting products in a box truck to a handful of regional customers departing from the Smyrna, GA campus. This position is a critical role of the Supply Chain Planning department providing excellent customer service to these regional customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following, other duties may be assigned):
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the box truck
Pick up truck at warehouse and may load truck, according to company safety standards and to ensure product integrity
Possess and maintain safe driving records, and comply with local, state, and federal transportation regulations
Work as needed to complete routes
Build relationships and rapport with customers on route
Maintain basic shipping paperwork, checking for accuracy and detail, making sure that the customer has signed the dated certifications and that all delivered jobs have respective paperwork
May require some warehouse-to-warehouse travel assisting staff as needed
Full time position with expected five-day work week, which may include occasional weekends
Perform excellent customer service through interacting and servicing external and internal customers
Perform great attention to detail and accuracy
Ensures compliance with legal and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility
Ensures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of responsibility
Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up to date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures
Qualifications/Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to utilize technology, software, and devices
Knowledge of commercial driver regulations (DOT) and safety
Required to pass DOT physical and Defensive Driver Course
Computer knowledge with word, excel, and outlook
2+ years of commercial driving experience with 26’ box truck, or similar preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
Forklift certification preferred (will require certification within 90 days)
Georgia CDL, and CDL A preferred

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the primary work environment requires the employee be occasionally exposed to filtered humidity and temperature-controlled air. The role will involve exposure to all outdoor weather conditions. This job will also require the employee stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. The employee is required to work in a warehouse and truck cab and work regularly scheduled shifts and may be asked to work overtime and weekends when needed for special programs or events.
