Role Description The Associate Trauma Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Roanoke, VA, with a combination of on-site and work-from-home responsibilities. In this position, the specialist supports trauma surgeons and clinical teams by providing product expertise, case coverage, and technical guidance during surgical procedures. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and organizing trauma implant and instrument sets, coordinating with hospital staff and sales representatives, and ensuring product availability for scheduled and emergent cases. The role involves documenting field activity, gathering clinical feedback, and relaying insights to internal teams to support product improvements and education initiatives. The Associate Trauma Specialist also participates in training sessions, maintains up-to-date knowledge of Globus trauma solutions, and adheres to all regulatory, quality, and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Clinical and technical expertise: Experience or education in life sciences, biomedical engineering, nursing, or a related field; strong understanding of human anatomy, orthopedic or trauma procedures, and operating room protocols.
  • Customer and surgeon support: Ability to build professional relationships with surgeons, clinical staff, and hospital partners; commitment to responsive, solutions-focused support in high-pressure clinical environments.
  • Organizational and coordination skills: Skill in planning case coverage, managing inventory and instrumentation, and documenting field activities accurately and on time.
  • Communication and collaboration: Clear verbal and written communication, effective presentation of product information, and collaborative work style across sales, clinical, and internal teams.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving: Capacity to respond to urgent case needs, troubleshoot in the field, learn new technologies quickly, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • General requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred; prior experience in medical device, trauma, or orthopedic support is beneficial; valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed; comfort with a hybrid work environment combining on-site hospital presence with remote tasks.
