Job Summary: We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to lead our CI/CD transformation and establish modern automation practices across our engineering organization. You will be responsible for building robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, migrating legacy manual and Jenkins-based deployment processes to fully automated workflows, and establishing DevOps best practices for cloud-native applications on AWS. This role combines hands-on pipeline development with technical leadership, as you'll work closely with development teams to transform how we build, test, and deploy software. You will play a critical role in accelerating our development velocity, improving release reliability, and enabling engineering teams to deliver value to customers faster and more safely. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. However, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on DevOps practices, CI/CD implementation, and automation strategies. Essential Functions: Duties and Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for new and existing applications Lead the migration of manual deployment processes, Jenkins-based workflows, and Azure DevOps Pipelines and releases to automated GitHub Actions pipelines Implement automated build, test, and deployment processes for .NET and Java applications, React front-ends, and cloud infrastructure Integrate automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests) into CI/CD pipelines Implement automated security scanning (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning) as part of the build process Design and implement deployment strategies including blue-green deployments, canary releases, and rolling updates Automate Infrastructure as Code deployments using AWS CDK and CloudFormation in CI/CD pipelines Establish best practices for GitOps and version control workflows Configure and manage deployment to multiple environments (dev, test, UAT, production) across AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, EC2, and serverless architectures Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability for CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes Create and maintain deployment documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides Establish metrics and dashboards to track deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery Work with Cloud Administrator to ensure CI/CD pipelines follow infrastructure best practices and security standards Implement secrets management and secure credential handling in CI/CD workflows using AWS Secrets Manager and Parameter Store Automate compliance validation and security checks in deployment pipelines (PCI-DSS, SOC2 requirements) Support engineering teams in troubleshooting build and deployment issues Optimize build times and pipeline performance for faster feedback cycles Implement artifact management and versioning strategies Create automated rollback procedures and disaster recovery workflows Stay current with DevOps tools, practices, and industry trends Mentor engineering teams on CI/CD best practices, GitHub Actions workflows, and automation techniques Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for deployment-related issues Critical Deliverables: Fully automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for all applications Successful migration of legacy Jenkins and manual processes to GitHub Actions Comprehensive pipeline documentation and self-service guides Deployment automation for cloud infrastructure and applications Deployment metrics and monitoring dashboards Reduced deployment times and increased deployment frequency Improved deployment reliability and reduced change failure rates Required Skills/Abilities: Expert-level proficiency with GitHub Actions including workflows, actions, runners, and secrets management Strong experience with Jenkins and ability to migrate complex Jenkins pipelines to modern CI/CD platforms Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and understanding of migration strategies Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes) Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code pipelines using AWS CDK or CloudFormation Knowledge of .NET build processes and package management (NuGet) Experience with modern front-end build tools and deployment (npm, webpack, React) Understanding of security best practices in CI/CD including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance automation Experience with automated testing frameworks and their integration into pipelines Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, application performance monitoring) Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for complex build and deployment issues Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across teams Experience mentoring developers on DevOps practices Understanding of Agile methodologies and how CI/CD supports rapid iteration Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
