Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to support and enhance our enterprise Linux infrastructure. This role manages Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu systems, supports certificate management processes, and works with databases, virtualization platforms, and DevOps tools. The Senior Linux Administrator collaborates with development, security, and operations teams and provides expertise across systems such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, LDAP, Red Hat Satellite, Tenable, VMware, and multiple database platforms including PostgreSQL and Oracle.

Responsibilities

•      Deploy, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu servers.
•      Manage system lifecycle operations, patching, and updates using Red Hat Satellite and Ansible.
•      Administer and troubleshoot VMware-based virtualized environments.
•      Support and maintain database systems, including PostgreSQL and Oracle.
•      Implement and maintain certificate management processes (SSL/TLS, CSRs, certificate renewal workflows).
•      Monitor system health, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure high availability.
•      Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows using Ansible.
•      Develop and maintain Terraform modules for infrastructure-as-code deployments.
•      Support CI/CD tools and workflows involving Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Jira.
•      Manage authentication and access controls using LDAP/SSSD.
•      Remediate vulnerabilities identified by Tenable or similar tools.
•      Maintain accurate system documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams.
•      Participate in on-call rotations and planned maintenance windows.

Required Qualifications:

•      5 years of Linux administration experience (RHEL and Ubuntu)
•      Experience with scripting languages like Bash and Python.
•      Strong understanding of system performance, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
•      Hands-on experience with Ansible automation and Terraform.
•      Experience with VMware administration and virtual infrastructure support.
•      Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management processes.
•      Familiarity with LDAP/SSSD authentication.
•      Experience using Jira, Bitbucket, and Jenkins in an operational or DevOps environment.
•      Strong understanding of network fundamentals (addressing and firewalls)

Preferred Qualifications

•      Bachelor's Degree in related field 
•           Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Podman) or Kubernetes.
•      Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
•      Experience optimizing or automating database administration tasks.

•      Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer (4 to 8 hours)
