JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Chief Electrical Estimator position requires an assertive candidate with a proven ability to oversee and manage the operations of an estimating department. The candidate must possess serious knowledge of electrical, medium voltage, utility and low voltage estimating in an intense yet thorough work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of estimators to generate over $150,000,000 of revenue per year.
- Develop and implement training methods and procedures.
- Understand costs and overhead to achieve profitability for electrical construction jobs.
- Solicit subcontractor and vendor proposals and analyze to determine best value.
- Lead the department to meet company financial goals.
- Track data against company goals and report to Senior Management team.
- Review bidding opportunities and manage department workload.
- Lead written RFP proposal teams.
- Review and deliver accurate and thorough proposals utilizing multiple delivery methods such as design/build, pre-construction budgeting, plan and specification and change order.
- Coordinate and participate as Senior Management team member to design and implement company initiatives.
- Continuous follow-up with existing general contractors and customers.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrate knowledge of multiple public and private construction sectors, underground and overhead utility, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education, water treatment, entertainment facilities, etc.
- Experience using ConEST Intellibid software preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience estimating low voltage systems such as nurse call, voice/data, security, access control, nurse call, sound masking, DAS systems, etc.
- Experience estimating medium voltage electrical systems.
- Experience estimating underground and overhead utility electrical systems.
- Flexibility to handle changing deadlines and priorities.
- Strong ability to conceptually estimate and understand electrical systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or an equivalent degree.
- Electrical Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience as an electrical estimator in electrical construction.
- People Experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience managing direct reports with an estimating emphasis.
Pay: $100,200.41 - $130,037.05 per year
