Job Description
- Provide same-day support to staff for SAS programming, statistical analysis, and SAS software technical issues
- Provide regular output data files and reports (e.g., CSV, Excel, PDF) to support disease response efforts, including developing, troubleshooting, and executing SAS code
- Establish and maintain relationship with SAS Institute for training needs, software upgrades, and license files for annual renewals
- Coordinate with SAS Institute for in-person training at South Dakota locations
- Provide training to SAS users, including a minimum of six 1-hour training sessions annually
- Provide technical support to staff about specific SAS coding or statistical needs (e.g., age-adjusted or age-specific rate calculations, statistical tests based on data)
- Creates and maintains SAS code and datasets (e.g., code repository for common processes)
- Work with staff to review, streamline, and automate SAS code
- Assist with SAS programs to support federal or state reports and grant deliverables
- Build and maintain SAS process to extract blood lead data for quarterly submission to CDC
- Build and maintain SAS process to extract monthly OD2A-S data for monthly submission to CDC
- Master’s degree in statistics or biostatistics
- SAS certifications
- Five years of experience using SAS
- Proficient in SQL language
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools
- Two years experience working in a public health setting
