Summary of Role: GlobalFoundries in Fab 8 Malta NY is looking for a motivated student to work with the Customer Engineering team. Primary responsibility of the role will be completing a project to support the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – First Time Proto Success and Customer Satisfaction – of the Customer Engineering organization. Essential Responsibilities include: · Understanding the priorities of our customers as they bring new products to the factory. · Working collaboratively not only with the Customer Engineering team, but also other relevant internal stakeholders to gather information and gain understanding of customer landscape. · Identify areas for improvement in how we proactively address customer concerns. · Take ownership of project assigned and show initiative to gather required information and deliver desired outcome. · Gain overall understanding of semiconductor manufacturing facility and technology. Required Qualifications: · Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor Manufacturing or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship. · Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing. · Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) · Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship. Preferred Qualifications: Prior related internship or co-op experience Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
