What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paid User Acquisition & Growth Manager position at GlobalComix?
Location: Remote. US time zones must.
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer
This is a chance to work at the center of modern pop culture, helping bring iconic stories and characters to new audiences while building a real, scalable growth engine behind them. GlobalComix is looking for a paid user acquisition manager to help build and scale our growth engine. This role is focused first and foremost on execution excellence in paid acquisition, with a strong voice in how we evolve our growth strategy over time.
You will work closely with the CMO to translate high level growth priorities into concrete testing plans, channel decisions, and creative programs. This role partners closely in shaping growth strategy by bringing data driven insights, disciplined experimentation, and a strong point of view grounded in hands on execution.
This is a hands on role for someone who is methodical, persistent, and deeply curious. Someone who enjoys turning ambiguity into structure, and structure into results. You should be comfortable living inside ad platforms, spreadsheets, and performance reports, and equally comfortable working with agencies and internal teams to push output and learning forward.
Subscription growth is the primary KPI for this role.
In addition, you will also own storefront merchandising in partnership with content and product, with the goal of improving à la carte sales as a secondary KPI.
Paid User Acquisition. Primary KPI: Subscription Growth
- Execute paid acquisition programs across mobile and web in close partnership with the CMO
- Help inform channel mix, budget allocation, and testing priorities through performance insights
- Run structured testing programs across Google, Meta, Apple Search Ads, and select ad networks
- Monitor and optimize campaigns against subscription volume, efficiency, and early payback signals
- Work day to day with the UA agency partner to ensure strong execution, clear accountability, and continuous improvement
- Translate performance learnings into actionable briefs for internal creative teams to support ongoing testing
- Surface opportunities, risks, and trade offs to help guide strategic decisions
Storefront Merchandising. Secondary KPI: À la Carte Revenue
- Own day to day merchandising execution across the storefront in app and on web
- Partner with content specialists to ensure strong title selection, placement, and timing
- Optimize storefront ordering, messaging, and promotions to improve conversion and revenue
- Coordinate merchandising beats with paid campaigns and owned channel moments where relevant
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with analytics, product, creative, and content teams to ensure clean execution and fast learning
- Contribute to the development of better growth processes, documentation, and testing discipline over time
- Consistent growth in paid driven subscriptions with improving efficiency
- Clear, well run testing programs that produce usable insights, not just reports
- Strong collaboration with agency and internal teams, resulting in better creative and faster iteration
- Measurable uplift in à la carte sales driven by improved merchandising execution
- 3 to 5 years of experience in paid user acquisition, growth marketing, or mobile performance marketing
- Hands on experience with Google, Meta, Apple Search Ads, and mobile ad networks
- Working knowledge of attribution, SKAN, and cohort based performance measurement
- Comfortable operating in execution heavy roles with strategic exposure
- Highly organized, data oriented, and persistent
- Bonus points for experience in subscription products, gaming, or entertainment
- Cherry on the top, if candidate has a passion for any comics or manga
