Overview
Title: RN Medical Surgical
Location: utica, NY
Shift: 3 x 12 hlur Nights
Duration: 13 weeks
Travel pay: $2550/wk
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and established protocols.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, managing acute pain, airway management, ventilator support, and other critical care needs as appropriate.
- Perform wound suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and specimen collection with precision and adherence to infection control standards.
Experience
Candidates should possess a valid RN license with demonstrated experience in medical-surgical units is essential. Additional preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Proficiency in advanced nursing procedures like IV infusion, tube feeding management, ostomy care, and ventilator support.
- Background in acute care environments including trauma medicine or post-operative recovery settings.
- Knowledge of infection control practices aligned with NCQA standards.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring memory or dementia care.
