Shift: D Shift - Friday to Sunday, 5:00 PM to 5:30 AMJob SummaryThe Structures Technician supports high-rate aerospace manufacturing by performing precision drilling, structural assembly, and integration of large aerospace components. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while working with both metallic and composite materials in support of payload and vehicle assembly operations.As part of the Structures team, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and apply advanced fabrication and assembly techniques to meet stringent aerospace specifications.Key Responsibilities
- Configure new production work areas with required tooling and equipment to support efficient, high-rate manufacturing.
- Operate precision-calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Drill precision holes to tight tolerances and install structural fasteners.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, sealing, composite layups, repairs, and testing.
- Assist with vehicle assembly, installation, and payload system preparation.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, structures, or related fields.
- Experience with hand tools and drills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using precision measurement tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, and optical measuring instruments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights, on lifts, ladders, and in confined spaces.
- Experience working with adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
- Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Industry certification, trade school training, or a related degree.
- Experience handling and assembling large aerospace components.
- Knowledge of precision assembly processes.
- Strong technical and leadership capabilities with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset with interest in process optimization.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
