Job Summary
A Senior BIM/CAD Technician will assess the Facilities department's BIM practices, workflow, model and template standards, recommend improvements, train staff, and identify automation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with the Facilities team to assess the current BIM process, workflows, and Revit usage.
- Recommend and implement process improvements, standards, and benefits.
- Develop BIM documentation and maintenance framework, best practices, and workflows.
- Define automation opportunities using off-the-shelf Revit tools and features.
- Train and mentor staff in Revit skills and execution.
- Develop and present solutions to technical and design problems following industry best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Required Skills
- Expert understanding of design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Excel.
- Expert knowledge of Revit Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Strong understanding of hosted vs. non-hosted elements, view ranges, visibility/graphics controls, filters, templates, design options, Revit families, parameters and schedules, view templates and standards, Dynamo, pyRevit scripts, AutoCAD LISP development, and Revit-AutoCAD integration.
- Experience in training or mentoring staff.
- Strong knowledge in architecture, design, calculations and design systems.
- Working knowledge of the theory and practices of architecture discipline.
- Knowledge of design codes and specifications related to architectural design requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers and Designers) in a multi-disciplinary project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CTC Software tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and IWMS software platforms.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in drafting technology or related field with 13 years related experience required, OR
- Associate Degree with 14 years related experience required, OR
- 15 years progressive detailing and design experience required.
