Content Acquisition Specialist (TEMP)

Job Summary:
The Content Acquisition Specialist will support the Book's Acquisitions and Content Partnerships team. This individual will research and compile contract deal term details, compile and analyze sales data, negotiate renewal licenses, and provide other dealmaking support to the team. They will also work closely with the internal teams including deal operations and legal, and also work with external partners including publishers, agents, and authors. They will work within the team on specific workflows, collaborating with others as needed. The ideal candidate is an avid consumer of media with an interest in books and entertainment, a self-starter with strong analytical skills who has the ability to build a strong rapport and trust with people across multiple functional areas, and thrives in a high-energy entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate sales and performance reports using various business intelligence systems
- Research contract terms by reviewing contracts, amendments, addendums, and the contract database
- Work with legal to draft amendments
- Provide general operational support to the Books acquisition team
- Enter and maintain records in the team's Salesforce and other databases
- Process payee changes, content terminations, etc.
- Negotiate license renewals
Education Requirements:
- B.A. or equivalent degree preferred
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in publishing rights licensing
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Fluency in Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Salesforce, Airtable, and similar tools
- Experience working with databases and high volumes of information
- Excellent business judgment, exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities in a calm and efficient manner
