Job Summary
This role is a Cloud Storage Lead Contractor responsible for leading the design, implementation, and operational management of enterprise cloud storage solutions, with a primary focus on AWS. This role will drive storage strategy, architecture, automation, resiliency, and performance optimization, including leading FSx for NetApp ONTAP (FSx ONTAP) implementations in AWS to support large-scale application and data migrations. The contractor will partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective storage platforms, provide technical leadership for cloud transformation initiatives, and establish operational best practices across hybrid and cloud-native environments. Experience with Azure storage services is beneficial but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and services across public and/or hybrid cloud environments
- Build and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure cloud architectures
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using infrastructure-as-code tools
- Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, availability, and cost optimization
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployment and integration
- Implement and maintain security controls, identity management, and access policies
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure and service-related issues
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
- Document cloud architectures, configurations, and operational procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cloud best practices
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud-native architecture principles
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
