Business Development Specialist

Location: Huntsville, AL, 35801

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, define, and initiate GTS projects where work or portions of work are desired to be performed.
  • Develop and initiate GTS agreements and relationships with other business firms and clients and submit to GTS corporate management for approval.
  • Identify and analyze military, federal, state, local, government agencies and industrial and commercial business opportunities.
  • Make recommendations on capture potential, marketing strategy, and where work portions should be performed.
  • Assist in developing legislative strategy, bill and report language, letters for company officer signature, contracting and meeting with committees and professional staff.
  • Represent GTS in meetings with commercial or defense companies or government sponsors and organizations to provide feedback and recommendations. If requested, draft and negotiate business arrangements as necessary with other companies as required to win pending competitions.
  • Develop market strategies and business strategies for capture of opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of marketing products such as brochures, capability statements, trade show booths, or other sales and marketing tools for GTS.
  • Identify trade shows, industry days, or other customer or industry sponsored venues for display or presentation of GTS products and services.
  • Assist in the development and identification of resources necessary to gain access to or grow within a specific industry, customer, or area that represents business growth opportunities for GTS.
  • Provide business development strategies and plans that identify potential business targets and opportunities. Business Development plans are required to updated at least quarterly or as directed by senior management.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of company proposals and quotes to customers.
  • Assist in developing the marketing and presentation materials necessary to promote company products, services and growth to GTS customers.
  • Participate, as required, in review and assessment (Red and Yellow Team Reviews) of company proposal submissions, oral presentations, and other company submittals as necessary.
  • Provide monthly reports of efforts to senior management that includes customer visits made, presentations given, trade shows or other sponsored events attended, and anticipated targets/visits for the coming month.
Work Experience Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in a Defense Contractor discipline
Education Requirements:
  • BS/BA
