This role requires strong experience with inspection tools, blueprint reading, and dimensional verification to ensure high-quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform layout, first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Use inspection equipment including height gauges, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and attribute gauges
- Set up and operate CMM for dimensional inspection
- Analyze inspection reports and ensure accuracy
- Verify job packets, control plans, and job travelers
- Complete accurate and legible documentation
- Ensure proper gauging, machine guarding, and part identification
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 procedures and quality standards
- Report unsafe conditions and follow all safety protocols
- Support team operations and meet attendance expectations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3–5 years of quality inspection experience in metal stamping
- Knowledge of ISO, metrology, gage calibration, GD&T, and SPC
- Ability to read blueprints, job orders, and use precision measuring tools
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and work independently or on a team
- Stand for extended periods (up to 90% of shift)
- Move throughout work area and access machinery
- Lift and move parts up to 60 lbs (frequently 40 lbs)
- Visual acuity for detailed inspection work
- Manual dexterity for precision tasks
- Maintain high standards for product quality and delivery
