As a Progressive Die Stamping Press Operator, you'll play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, working with heavy-duty power presses and various stamping products. Key Responsibilities:
- Press Operation: Set up and operate heavy-duty power presses to bend, form, stretch, and straighten a variety of products such as plates, extrusions, and structural shapes according to blueprints, layouts, and templates.
- Sequence Planning: Plan the sequence of operations by applying your knowledge of materials to ensure efficient and accurate production.
- Multi-Press Management: Assist in setting up and operating multiple automatic and/or multi-slide presses simultaneously for diverse stamping products.
- Material Handling: Check material for correct size and type, load coils, adjust uncoilers and material rollers as needed.
- Die Setup: Assist with the setup of complex progressive dies, movable and stationary forming blocks, adjusting stroke and feed as required.
- Measurement: Use micrometers, calipers, scales, and fixed gauges to check work in process and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Safety and Maintenance: Install and check safety devices, report faulty equipment or defective material, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Physical Tasks: Move materials using lift trucks or cranes as necessary, and perform related duties which may require working beyond normal shift hours to meet company needs.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- At least 3 years of progressive die stamping press operation experience.
- Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.
- Self-motivated with strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Team-oriented with effective communication skills and a detail-oriented approach.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, squat, reach above head, climb stairs and ladders.
- Lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Schedule: Full-time position with 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Availability for 2nd shift (3pm to 11pm) and 3rd shift (11pm to 7am) as needed. Weekends may be required.
