Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist -Set up/Operator

Location: Painesville, Ohio

Shift: 1st Shift (6:00am-2:30pm)

We are a precision aerospace machining company known for delivering high-quality components to demanding specifications. We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our 2nd shift team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and edit programs on CNC lathes, including models with Fanuc controls.
• Work confidently and independently to meet tight aerospace machining tolerances and precision requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers.
• Perform machine setups, tool changes, and offsets as needed for production runs.
• Edit CNC programs as required to optimize machining processes and ensure part conformance.
• Operate machines such as Mori Seiki or Mazak CNC lathes.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications.
• Collaborate with a small second-shift team to maintain workflow and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following company safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a CNC lathe machinist in a precision or aerospace environment.
• Strong ability to set up and operate CNC lathes independently, including tooling and fixturing.
• Proficient in reading and editing Fanuc-based CNC programs.
• Familiarity with Mori Seiki and/or Mazak machines highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and aerospace machining requirements.
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing top-quality parts.
• Ability to work effectively and independently on 2nd shift within a small team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in decision-making on the shop floor.
