Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and edit programs on CNC lathes, including models with Fanuc controls.
- Work confidently and independently to meet tight aerospace machining tolerances and precision requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers.
- Perform machine setups, tool changes, and offsets as needed for production runs.
- Edit CNC programs as required to optimize machining processes and ensure part conformance.
- Operate machines such as Mori Seiki or Mazak CNC lathes.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with a small second-shift team to maintain workflow and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following company safety protocols.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a CNC lathe machinist in a precision or aerospace environment.
- Strong ability to set up and operate CNC lathes independently, including tooling and fixturing.
- Proficient in reading and editing Fanuc-based CNC programs.
- Familiarity with Mori Seiki and/or Mazak machines highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and aerospace machining requirements.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing top-quality parts.
- Ability to work effectively and independently on 2nd shift within a small team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in decision-making on the shop floor.
