Help shape the user experience for the products that power GTN. In this senior UX role, you’ll partner closely with business stakeholders, product leaders, and engineering teams to simplify complex workflows, improve usability, and create intuitive experiences across our internal and client-facing platform.

- Summer Flexible program available
- 25 days of PTO plus paid holidays
- Competitive medical/dental/vision benefits
- 401(k) with company match

Who is GTN? We’re a mobility tax services firm, and our engineering team builds the internal and client-facing platform that powers it. This is product/platform engineering (not staff augmentation) with stable priorities and long-term ownership.
We build a modern product platform for internal teams and clients, including portals, workflow automation, documents, reporting, and integrations, along with carefully scoped AI to improve internal productivity. You’ll have the opportunity to influence both new experiences and improvements to existing products in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
We work in small, cross-functional teams with strong ownership, close partnership between design and engineering, and a practical approach to Agile delivery. This role offers high visibility and the chance to help shape how design is practiced across the platform.
This role is fully remote. We collaborate primarily during Central Time business hours with a few shared core hours for meetings. Our Maple Grove, MN office is available for optional on-site meetings.
What success looks like
- Builds strong, trusted relationships with product, engineering, and business partners
- Translates complex business processes into clear, intuitive workflows that teams understand and adopt
- Drives improved consistency and usability across products, with UX patterns applied consistently across teams
- Empowers developers to confidently apply UX patterns, resulting in reduced ambiguity, fewer inconsistencies, and less rework
- Improves team velocity by providing UX guidance and artifacts that reduce blockers and rework during delivery
- Contributes to a more cohesive and scalable UX approach across the platform in alignment with the UX Lead
What you’ll do
- Workflow and interaction design for complex internal and client-facing products
- Translate business needs and technical constraints into practical, user-centered solutions
- Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and/or other UX artifacts that guide delivery and reduce ambiguity
- Partner closely with the UX Lead to establish and evolve a system of UX patterns and/or a design system that drives consistency, usability, and scalability across products and teams
- Support the definition of usage guidelines and decision frameworks, ensuring developers understand when and how to apply patterns, not just what to build
- Collaborate closely with developers to embed UX best practices into development workflows, ensuring consistency is maintained beyond individual features or projects
- Facilitate design discussions and decision-making across stakeholders and cross-functional teams, helping align business goals, technical feasibility, and usability
- Use feedback, usability findings, and analytics to continuously refine and improve experiences
- Champion the user and advocate for usability within the organization, clearly articulating design decisions and direction to developers, stakeholders, and product owners

- A modern product environment with APIs, integrations, and workflow-heavy applications
What we’re looking for
MUST HAVES:
- 8 years of UX, product design, or similar experience designing complex digital products, with internal tools, SaaS, or workflow-heavy systems
- Strong problem-solving mindset with deep empathy for users and a passion for championing user needs, with the ability to translate complex business processes into clear, intuitive workflows
- Experience creating practical UX artifacts such as flows, wireframes, and prototypes that guide development and reduce ambiguity
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with engineers, balancing user needs with technical constraints in a fast-moving environment
- Experience contributing to or working within UX patterns, design systems, or shared component libraries
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and accessibility standards, with the ability to design experiences that are both usable and practical to implement
- Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and pragmatically to developers, product managers, and business stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently with light direction while staying aligned with UX leadership and broader product goals
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience as a Senior UX / UX Designer on cross-team initiatives (complex workflows, integrations, and enterprise platforms)
- Strong Azure DevOps experience (Boards, dashboards, queries) and comfort working with CI/CD and release processes
- Analytics and user acceptance A/B testing (Azure Application Insights, Mixpanel) with a focus on practical, responsible adoption
If you enjoy simplifying complex workflows, partnering closely with builders and stakeholders, and helping define the UX framework and patterns that shape how our applications are built, we’d love to talk.
