Veterinary Medical Director

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinarian looking to step into a leadership position while maintaining a clinical caseload, with a four-day work week, no on-call, strong technician support, and genuine autonomy over the medical direction of the hospital.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary up to $190,000
• Up to $75,000 sign-on bonus

The Role

As Medical Director, you will provide clinical leadership while continuing to maintain a hands-on caseload.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining a clinical caseload across general practice
• Providing wellness, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery
• Upholding high clinical standards and medical protocols
• Supporting the continued development of the hospital's medical offering
• Reviewing medical records and ensuring appropriate clinical standards
• Overseeing controlled substance protocols and regulatory compliance
• Mentoring and coaching Veterinarians and support staff
• Supporting DVM recruitment and participating in candidate interviews
• Working with hospital leadership on budgeting, inventory, and equipment requirements
• Monitoring key performance indicators alongside hospital management
• Supporting excellent client communication and addressing escalated concerns
• Ensuring compliance with Kentucky regulations, OSHA, and applicable standards
• Helping foster a positive, collaborative team culture
