Description:
- Construct tools and fixtures for production use where no design is available, but can follow tool design drawings, layouts, etc.
- Operate all conventional tool room equipment and hand tools (trak machines, milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, hacksaws, precision instruments - micrometers, gages, etc.)
- Assist and instruct apprentices.
- Support tool breakages
- Assembling, fitting and repairing tools
- Monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or possible improvements
- Assisting with tool maintenance
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Reading, writing and mathematical level necessary to competently perform job duties.
- Requires full apprenticeship program
- Knowledge of CAD software a plus.
