What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Associate position at Global Steering Systems Holdin?
SUMMARY
The maintenance associate will perform general upkeep, cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Will assist the maintenance and mechanics team with minor repairs to equipment, machines, buildings and grounds. May assist with scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance work based on machine requirements and production schedules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform minor preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, and completing necessary paperwork, all while adhering to safety protocols.
- Back up to wastewater treatment personnel.
- Assist with planning and scheduling outside venders for maintenance; point of contact in absence of maintenance manager to oversee outside venders and let into required areas.
- Assist with maintaining the routine preventive maintenance and lubrication system and records, including appropriate equipment history records.
- Work with supervisors, team leaders and maintenance personnel to determine standard time for performing maintenance work including breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance and other types of maintenance related work.
- Consults with maintenance team leader/maintenance manager when necessary for planning of work.
o Ability to review/establish priority for work to be performed.
o Determines material, special tooling needed and availability of material.
o Complete other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED.
COMPETENCIES – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS/BEHAVIORS
- Basic computer/data entry knowledge.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical trades.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Position may require the ability to lift, bend, good hand dexterity, visual inspection and some manual handling not to exceed 35 pounds.
