Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Test Engineer / QA Lead with 8 years of experience to lead end-to-end quality assurance efforts for retail banking applications. This role requires strong expertise in QA strategy, test execution, automation, and regulatory compliance within the banking domain. The ideal candidate will act as a quality champion, collaborating across business and technology teams to ensure reliable, secure, and compliant software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end QA strategy, planning, and execution across multiple retail banking application releases
- Define and oversee test approach, test scenarios, test data creation, and test execution (manual and automated)
- Drive test automation strategy, framework design, and CI/CD integration to improve coverage and efficiency
- Manage defect lifecycle, root cause analysis, and quality metrics reporting
- Mentor and guide QA engineers, ensuring adherence to QA best practices and standards
- Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, product owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and align testing with banking workflows
- Ensure compliance with retail banking regulations and standards, including KYC, payments, loans, deposits, data privacy, and security requirements
- Perform risk assessments, release readiness reviews, and go/no-go decisions
- Communicate QA status, risks, and recommendations clearly to leadership and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Software Testing, with at least 3 years in a QA Lead or Senior role
- Strong experience testing retail banking or financial services applications
- In-depth knowledge of functional, regression, system, integration, and UAT testing
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, REST Assured, etc.)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test integration (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
- Solid understanding of banking regulations, security, and compliance requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
