Role Description
This is a full-time and remote role of Virtual Controller based in Spring, TX. The Virtual Controller will oversee and manage all financial activities, including preparing accurate financial reports, reconciling accounts, implementing and maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role demands collaboration with internal teams, as well as analyzing financial data to support strategic decision-making. The Virtual Controller will also contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
• Completing the GSS recommended month-end processes
• Reconcile Ledger and Sub-Ledger information including inventory reconciliations
• Review Customers reports and dashboards to prepare a summary report that identifies:
o Opportunities for improvement and best practices
o GAPS in processes
o Reporting deficiencies
o Additional projects and training opportunities
• Act as a business consultant who understands the big picture of the company, and the strategic benefits of having a fully integrated ERP system using real-time data from GSS.
• Help to develop and modify tools and reports • Virtual Training support on numerous financial related topics
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and financial knowledge, including GAAP compliance and financial reporting
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in Global Shop Solutions ERP system and advanced use of accounting software
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred
- Five or more years of experience in accounting or financial management roles
- Experience in manufacturing accounting or ERP-based settings is a plus
