Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 10 years of operational leadership within high-speed automated manufacturing, packaging, or consumer goods, including 5 years of experience as a Plant Manager, General Manager, or Site Operations Lead with full facility ownership.
- Education: B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management (MBA preferred).
- Core Competencies: Full site P&L management, Lean/Six Sigma transformation (Black Belt preferred), high-speed continuous operations, labor relations/workforce management, and EHS program leadership.
- Systems: Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and maintenance management platforms (CMMS).
Role Purpose
Serving as the site’s senior operational executive, the Director of Operations functions as the Plant Manager with total end-to-end accountability for facility performance, manufacturing execution, site P&L, environmental health and safety (EHS), and regulatory compliance. This role provides executive leadership to all plant personnel, driving continuous improvement, cost optimization, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) across all production lines.
Key Responsibilities
Total Site Leadership & Strategy
- Act as the single point of accountability for all site operations, establishing site operational strategy, KPIs, and operational targets aligned with global corporate objectives.
- Build and nurture a high-performance continuous improvement culture centered on safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Oversee site workforce planning, organizational structure, performance management, and talent development across all plant departments.
P&L Management & Operational Performance
- Hold full responsibility for the site’s operational budget, managing site OPEX/CAPEX, labor costs, overhead, and unit manufacturing costs.
- Oversee daily manufacturing execution, high-speed automated packaging, continuous process/converting operations, and material flow.
- Drive site-wide Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), eliminate waste, and increase throughput.
EHS, Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Serve as the ultimate site authority for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, driving a zero-incident safety culture and maintaining strict compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Partner with Site Quality leadership to enforce robust cGMP standards, internal/external audit readiness, Change Control, and CAPA resolution.
- Ensure site compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Engineering, Facilities & Supply Chain
- Direct site engineering, facilities management, and capital project execution (CAPEX) for equipment upgrades, automation, and infrastructure expansion.
- Oversee total productive maintenance (TPM) programs to ensure maximum asset reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Direct local supply chain, warehouse, material handling, and logistics teams in alignment with global S&OP and demand forecasts.
Salary : $165,000 - $205,000
