Project Manager

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management

• Oversee and manage complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, communication internally and externally, quality standards are met.
• Serve as the single point of contact for clients and stakeholders on assigned projects, resolving escalations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Sole responsibility in setup, maintenance, changes and management of project budgets and timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align resources, objectives, and schedules.
• Follow GRG processes to execute and communicate projects in a standard format and method.

Project Budgets

• Manage and understand project quoted budgets and maintain accurate project costing projections and current status.
• Communicate project budgets with working team and ensure they are maintained.
• Work with Purchasing and Engineering to develop designs and solutions that fit within project budgets.
• Support weekly documentation updates for assigned projects. Cost to go, invoicing, and sign offs.

Customer Communication

• Responsible for ALL customer communication and maintenance of a single point of contact.
• Support project team in relaying issues, missing information, and items outside of sold scope to customers.
• Communicate and update the timeline in accordance with project status and customer expectations.
• Run and communicate open issues lists with customers to transparently capture and close open topics.

Internal Communication

·      Ensure all project teams have clear direction and understanding of project scope and deliverables.

·      Work closely with GRG Project Executioner and Project Engineers to develop a clear plan for achieving project objectives.

·      Coordinating with project leads to plan and execute project engineering, builds, runoff and installations.

·      Communicate budget, scope, and timeline limitations to ensure what is being provided matches what was sold.

·      Develop and lead timeline objectives on projects and work with departmental leads to assign resources and communicate with project team and managers.

Project Timelines

• Leads creation and maintenance of project timeline. Providing regular published updates internally and externally.
• Monitor assigned project timelines and progress and provide regular updates to leadership.
• Assist in preparing reports, forecasts, and resource planning documentation as needed for achievement of payment milestones or other topics.
• Track customer and internal delays.
• Ensure project timing is maintained and escalate as needed to communicate changes or shifts.

Project Scope

·      Ensure project as sold scope is thoroughly understood and communicated to project team.

·      Tie GRG project plan to customer expectation and ensure both parties are working towards agreed goals.

·      Understand limitations to GRG scope and communicate limitations to customers.

·      Maintain proximity to GRG cost worksheets and communicate scope limitations internally and externally.

·      Coordinate and document project responsibilities between departments and customers.

·      Define scope in detail and ensure out of scope items are highlighted and quoted to customers via ECR’s.

Qualifications

• Strong project ownership with skills in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience with Expeditor and Expediting activities to track critical components, manage priorities, and remove bottlenecks across suppliers and internal teams.
• Knowledge of Inspection processes to coordinate quality checks, verify conformance to specifications, and support corrective actions.
• Background in Logistics Management to organize shipments, align deliveries with project timelines, and coordinate with warehousing and installation teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing or automation.
• Experience managing technical projects in machinery, automation, automotive, or related manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with project management software and standard productivity tools (e.g., MS Project or equivalent, spreadsheets, presentations).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects at once.
• Ability to work on-site in New Hudson, MI, and occasionally travel to customer locations or other GRG facilities as needed.
