ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN/CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR:Responsible for the oversight, execution, and successful completion of study protocolsOperates and upholds Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Coordinates with all departments and team members to streamline operations and ensure the successful execution of patient study visits with quality and accurate data.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):Completing patient visits according to their assigned protocol, including but not limited to ophthalmic assessments, medical intake, EKG, lab-work, etc. Review and understand the protocol, Inclusion/Exclusion criteria, procedure manual, and eCRF guidelines for each clinical trial they are assigned to.Actively seeks to identify potential subjects from our database to prescreen and enroll in ongoing studies.Attends Site Initiation Visits, Investigator meetings (as requested), bi-weekly staff meetings, monitoring visits, and any other meetings that may arise.Responsible for overseeing all study subjects according to protocol specific requirements and GCP guidelines.Ensure quality assurance (QA) is performed on all electronic and paper source documents.Performs other related work as required and assigned by practice administrator or direct supervisor.REQUIREMENTS/ EXPERIENCE:Bilingual English and SpanishMinimum of 1 year of experience as an Ophthalmic TechnicianExperience in: IOP, visual acuity, manifest refraction, fundus photography, OCT photography (preferred knowledge in Heidelberg), visual field, scribing, schirmers, corneal staining, pachymetryPreferred skills: Fluorescein Angiography, pupillometryExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Ability to effectively manage time with multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm, prioritizing workload as needed.*PLEASE NOTE: We are based in Glendale, CA, and this is not a remote position.Company DescriptionGlobal Research Management, Inc. is a clinical research clinic that specializes in Ophthalmic (eye) diseases. We perform clinical trials for subjects in all different areas of ophthalmology including, but not limited to: Dry eye, Presbyopia, Glaucoma, Retinal diseases, Contact Lenses, LASIK, Cataracts, etc. The office is owned/led by Dr. Sherif El-Harazi M.D, MPH who has been participating in trials for 30 years and is very experienced in the field. This is a company that is looking to expand in the next few years and need the staff to ensure quality work.
