Responsibilities
- Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of various manufacturing equipment, including robots, PLC, controls, electrical, etc.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
- Effective communication with team members and other departments.
- Maintain integrity of safety devices including light curtains, safety gates, barriers, etc.
- Assist in design and installation of new/improved manufacturing equipment, components, and processes.
- Make modifications to existing equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Monitor and maintain systems to facilitate root cause analysis for failures resulting in major downtime (as defined by management).
- Minimize downtime by effective use of resources including response time, technical expertise, tools, spare parts and external contacts.
- Promotes good housekeeping (5S).
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Must have good mathematical and communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand schematics.
- Ability to use testing and troubleshooting equipment.
- Must have a good understanding of rigging, cranes, etc.
- Must have a general knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Must be able to pay good attention to detail.
- Must have a basic knowledge of drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of AUTOCAD.
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed to meet customer requirements.
- Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must have general knowledge on electrical theory and troubleshooting.
- Must have general mechanical knowledge.
Physical Demands
Some of the physical demands for the position include being able to lift a weight of 40 pounds; frequent bending, stooping and stretching; being able to stand for prolonged periods of time; and ability to walk for prolonged periods of time.
