A world-renowned client is seeking a skilled junior engineer to provide multidisciplinary engineering consulting to internal and external stakeholders on facility repair and new construction projects, supporting all stages of design and construction. Stakeholders include Internal architects and space planners, owners’ representatives, facility managers, end users, and third-party consultants.
Work involves engineering consulting and troubleshooting for existing buildings and systems, including recommending repairs and improvements and developing conceptual designs for the work. Performing engineering studies and assessments under the Facility Director. This is a forward-facing role for an engineer with skills in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and civil engineering, with elements of owner representation, project management, and facility planning.
Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluations of planned facility acquisitions for infrastructure operation and maintenance issues.
- Provide engineering support in the disposal of buildings and systems.
- Assist in the development of and compliance with project budgets, including project development labor, construction estimates, and operational costs.
- Prepare construction documents for small renovations within their area of expertise.
- Assist in the selection of third-party design consultants.
- Perform reviews of third-party design documents to ensure adherence to project scope and the client's engineering standards.
- Assist in other projects and initiatives within the work group as assigned by the Facility Director
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 2 or more years of design and/or operation experience with industrial, commercial, or institutional facilities.
- Preferred: Professional engineer or engineering in training from Ohio or the ability to obtain an Ohio PE within six months of securing eligibility
- Preferred: 2 or more years of medical/healthcare design and/or construction management experience
- Preferred: Experience in Revit or Autocad and bid package preparation
