They are seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for their Spokane, WA or Billings, MT offices. This critical position is a high-profile "Growth Architect" role designed for a licensed professional ready to lead business development, manage key municipal client relationships, and drive complex infrastructure delivery. Positioned on an immediate fast track to a Regional Manager seat, you will oversee technical execution while mentoring a growing regional engineering team. The Charge: Scaled Ownership & Visionary Impact


  • Drive Strategic Expansion: Contribute to the continued growth of the Billings and regional Water/Wastewater groups by leading comprehensive business development initiatives, including proposal development, client interviews, and high-impact presentations.
  • Champion Technical Stewardship: Function as a recognized technical authority for the complex planning, design, and full-scale construction administration of major water treatment facilities, distribution networks, and wastewater treatment and collection systems.
  • Cultivate High-Performing Teams: Recruit, retain, and mentor a talented internal team of engineers, guiding their growth across technical delivery, client care, and business development.
  • Deliver Profitable Projects: Oversee and manage tasks, projects, and clients’ expectations to strict scope, time, and budget goals, ensuring internal technical teams consistently execute to profitability.
  • Master Technical Execution: Independently perform moderately complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices while utilizing computer-assisted engineering and design software/equipment to prepare flawless engineering and design documents.
  • Author Strategic Communication: Write technical specifications, reports, construction documents, and other critical correspondence tailored to various technical and municipal audiences.
  • Navigate Regulatory Frameworks: Coordinate closely with government agencies, client staff, and other cross-functional professionals to seamlessly obtain design information, approvals, and construction oversight/administration.
  • Exercise Professional Judgment: Consistently exercise impeccable discretion and judgment in all assigned work tasks while learning and applying company standards and best practices.
  • Maintain Industry Eminence: Stay actively known and engaged in industry-affiliated professional organizations and groups to continually expand the firm's client base and reputation.


The DNA: Proven Architecture of Success


  • The Foundation: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Engineering or a highly related technical discipline.
  • The Tenure: 10 years of progressive, hands-on experience working directly with communities to solve their complex water and wastewater challenges.
  • The Credentials: Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in Montana, or the absolute ability to obtain licensure via reciprocity within six months of employment.
  • The Leadership Track: A proven track record of marketing, building strong professional relationships, securing net-new work with potential clients, and providing exceptional project delivery to existing clients.
  • Collaborative Autonomy: The demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment, with the maturity to offer constructive feedback and direction to support overarching group goals.
  • The Work Ethic: An excellent work ethic coupled with a comprehensive, deep understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
  • The Trust Factor: A valid driver’s license and a clean, good driving record enabling regional travel to client sites.
