What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Machine Operator-Day Shift position at Global Polymer Industries, Inc.?
We’re currently looking for Day shift press machine operators to operate a compression molding machine for our unique UHMW polymer parts. This position works a 12-hour rotating shift; 4 days one week, 3 days the next. Necessary training included.
The Press Machine Operator is responsible for safe and efficient production of quality parts using compression molding machines in a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Follows instructions, documented processes, and training procedures to accurately produce parts that meet quality standards.
- Operates various compression molding machines.
- Follows training practices to manage quality.
- Ensures compliance with Global Polymer safety practices by wearing PPE and following specific job hazard controls.
- Conducts visual inspection of parts to detect any flaws or defects.
- Offers suggestions for productivity improvement and workflow processes.
- Maintains quality and quantity output and is accountable for both.
- Monitors machines and equipment used for problems and requests help with issues.
- Learns and demonstrates proper use of tools associated with molding.
- Cleans machinery and maintains a clean work area.
- Maintains acceptable attendance to successfully support production goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent and on the job training
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to communicate in either Spanish or English
- Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to details is required.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to act and interact with others in a respectful manner.
- Preference given to prior manufacturing or production experience.
- Preference given to prior work experience lasting longer than 1 year.
