Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, and support of electrical and electronic subsystems associated with a complex defense weapon system. This role supports prototype development through production readiness, ensuring electrical components and interfaces meet Government requirements for performance, reliability, safety, and maintainability. The Electrical Engineer works closely with systems, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver production-representative hardware in support of Government-led test and evaluation activities.

This role supports a hands-on engineering program and requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and facilities. Occasional travel to manufacturing sites and Government test locations may be required.

Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer works closely with systems, mechanical, software, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver production-representative hardware in support of Government-led test and evaluation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance with ITAR, DFAR, and any other relevant regulations and policies.
- Design, develop, and integrate electrical and electronic subsystems, including power distribution, wiring harnesses, connectors, and control interfaces
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and associated technical documentation
- Support system integration by ensuring electrical compatibility across mechanical assemblies and subsystems
- Perform electrical analyses to verify performance, safety, and reliability under operational conditions
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions during integration, testing, and production
- Ensure compliance with Governmentfurnished Technical Data Packages (TDPs), applicable MILSTDs, and contract requirements
- Support configuration management and engineering change control activities
- Assist with preparation of electrical test procedures and support Governmentled test and evaluation activities
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners to support producibility, assembly, inspection, and acceptance of electrical components
- Support supplier technical oversight and evaluation of electrical components and assemblies
- Other project and work as assigned by management
- Candidates must be ITAR Authorized US Persons
- Must be lawfully permitted and comfortable working in facilities that handle firearms and munitions.
- Must be willing to travel on average 2530%, both internationally and domestic, travel may vary based on business needs.
- Must be able to work on site at our offices in the Tampa Bay Area
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering supporting defense, aerospace, or industrial programs
- Experience designing and integrating ruggedized electrical systems for harsh environments
- Familiarity with military electrical standards and practices (e.g., MILSTD461, MILSTD464, MILSTD810)
- Proficiency with electrical design tools and schematic capture software
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting weapon systems, munitions, or safetycritical systems
- Experience with power conditioning, EMI/EMC mitigation, and grounding/bonding practices
- Familiarity with Government test processes and supporting documentation
- Experience transitioning electrical designs from prototype to production
- Active or eligible U.S. security clearance
