Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Miscellaneous & Structural Steel Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive bids for steel fabrication and erection projects. This role requires strong plan-reading skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with project managers, detailers, vendors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities

Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents

Perform detailed quantity take-offs for miscellaneous and structural steel

Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and coatings

Solicit and evaluate vendor pricing

Identify scope gaps, clarifications, and value-engineering opportunities

Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation

Communicate with general contractors and owners and collaborate with contract internal teams during the bidding process

Assist with project handoff after award, including scope reviews and budget setup

Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
Required Qualifications

3 years of experience estimating miscellaneous and/or structural steel

Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes

Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings

Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
