Job Description:

The Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring domestic and international suppliers meet U.S. food safety and regulatory requirements. This role supports a large and growing supplier base across multiple GMF divisions and plays a key role in supplier approval, monitoring, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

· Verify that domestic and foreign suppliers meet U.S. food safety requirements under FSMA, FSVP, FDA, USDA, and applicable regulations

· Review and conduct hazard analysis for imported and domestic food products

· Evaluate supplier performance and execute supplier verification activities, including documentation review, audits, and testing as needed

· Manage and maintain supplier approval, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring programs across multiple divisions and product categories

· Coordinate and conduct supplier communication, including routine and escalated calls with international vendors across different time zones

· Manage escalated supplier complaints and partner with suppliers and internal teams to drive corrective and preventive actions

· Support preparation for regulatory inspections and audits across U.S. sites, including FDA inspections, FSVP audits, USDA requirements, and local health department inspections

· Assist in maintaining and improving supplier quality systems, SOPs, and compliance processes

· Respond to customer and consumer requests related to product safety, supplier documentation, and item-level information

· Support additional supplier quality, regulatory, or compliance related projects as needed

Work Experience/Requirements for This Role

· Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field

· 3–5 years’ experience in food manufacturing, supplier quality, or food safety

· FSVP, PCQI and HACCP certification

· Experience with FDA regulations, FSMA, and FSVP requirements

· Experience supporting audits (FDA, GFSI, AIB, or third-party audits)

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and high-volume environment

Preferred:

· Experience with TraceGains, Repositrak or similar supplier management systems

· Experience working with international suppliers and imported food products

· Familiarity with multi-site operations and regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions

· Experience working with warehouse or ERP systems such as High Jump, SAP, NetSuite, or similar

Schedule

· Days: Monday-Friday

· Hours: 6:00am-3:00pm or 7:00am-4:00pm Central Time

· Work Location: Bolingbrook, IL
