What are the responsibilities and job description for the Armed Security Officer position at Global Mark Security?
We are seeking a responsible and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The position is at a private school, where the officer will be responsible for patrolling the premises and ensuring the safety of all students, teachers, and staff.
Available openings, beginning in January:
5:30 PM–10:30 PM Mon.–Fri.
8:00 AM–9:00 PM Sat.–Sun. (to be split; exact hours negotiable)
By joining the team, you will also be eligible to work additional hours at this and other locations on an as-needed basis, primarily in and around Essex County (e.g., Livingston, the Oranges, Montclair, Morris Plains).
Duties
- Maintain a fixed post and/or patrol hallways and perimeter on foot.
- Monitor assigned areas to ensure safety and security.
- Observe and report any security incidents or suspicious activity.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies.
- Enforce policies and procedures related to safety and security protocols.
Skills
- Previous security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong conflict management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are needed.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
- Timeliness, dependability, and trustworthiness are critical.
Additional Requirements
- You must be able to stay on your feet for the majority of the time if needed (seating is provided for downtime).
- You must have reliable transportation to the client site; having your own vehicle is strongly preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
License/Certification:
- New Jersey SORA Level II armed security license (Required)
