What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Finisher position at Global Manufacturing Services?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, operate and use grinders and related tools to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners or buff, hone or polish metal parts
- Inspect and/or measure finished parts to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges
- Perform detailed work including but not limited to filing, lapping, assembling, scraping, marking, drilling, reaming, thread cutting, slicing and shaving, finishing.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, block gauges, pin gauges, and metal scales.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
- Punctuality and regular attendance are required
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary

- Task-focused with attention to details
- Ability to use hand tools such as grinders and drills
- Excellent teamwork skills
Physical Demands
- Continuous standing, bending, walking, reaching with hands and arms, using tools for long periods of time
- Visual abilities including close vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
- Safety shoes (non-skid with a reinforced toe), safety glasses, ear protection, and other personal protective equipment is required.
