Global Machine Works is a mid-sized progressively growing manufacturer of machined and assembled components for the aerospace industry.
Our company is looking to add Entry Level and Journey Level CNC Machinists to the team. Global Machine Works is looking for individuals who want long term employment with a well-established company. Entry Level personnel should be motivated, with some mechanical ability, basic computer skills and be reliable. Any Entry Level personnel that is accepted by Global Machine Works will be trained to operate CNC machines, inspect parts and taught basic Machinists skills.
Journey Level Machinist should be able to set-up first run parts, trouble shoot and improve efficiencies of existing programs, inspect parts and be dependable. Journey Level Machinist will have related machining and manufacturing experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Utilize various types of numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment to perform machining operations on all types of materials including but not limited to ferrous and nonferrous metals, nonmetallic materials, their alloys, and synthetic materials
- Work from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machining
- Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings
- Select the appropriate cutting tools
- Set up and operate a variety of Cell machines to perform multiple machining operations and ensure the proper utilization of equipment and material
- Improvise production aides as necessary to facilitate operations
- Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, techniques and thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations
- Ensure part count and data entry is accurate and correct consistently for both the Job Traveler and MES computer system
- Maintain a clean work area including: sweeping, mopping, and wiping down machines
- Machine maintenance as instructed by management
SCHEDULE
- Nights (Mon - Thurs) - 10 hour shifts - 3:45pm to 2:15am
- Weekends (Fri - Sun) - 12 hour shifts - 5:00am to 5:30pm

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to move, reach, lift, handle, feel, ascend/descend, observe, inspect, detect, handle or position self to observe. Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs frequently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a machine shop environment. Must be able to remain standing/walking position for majority of the time. This position is required to work around high-speed machinery and equipment and the use of any required safety equipment. There is exposure to machine oil, metal filings, unpleasant odors and noise. Job functions on and around mechanized equipment will present the need for alertness, accuracy and safety awareness.
