What does it mean to be a Business Systems Analyst at GLS?
As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for building business-focused information systems and technology solutions that are stable, scalable, and efficient. This position will be responsible for gathering business requirements from various stakeholders, work with technical teams to recommend effective and optimal solutions to meet the business needs, document proposed solutions, prioritize projects for timely implementation, and perform quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy.
\n- Research, evaluate, and analyze current business problems and identify requirements
- Effectively communicate insights, findings, project status and updates with cross-functional team members and management
- Collaborate with business analysts, and information technologists (developers, engineers, administrators, etc.) to design, build, customize, and implement reports and business intelligence dashboards using Snowflake, Streamlit, SQL Server, and Power BI
- Serve as the key interface between senior leadership, business users, and the development and infrastructure teams
- Participate in Agile/ Scrum ceremonies
- Work with external vendors to facilitate data exchange automation and enhancements
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in BA techniques such as process models, data flow diagrams, or other diagramming tools and models is preferred
- Intrinsically self-motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative, identify needs, make recommendations for improvement, see recommendations through implementation, and evaluate improvements for effectiveness
- Familiarity of SQL Server preferred
- Experience in software testing functions is preferred
- Experience in gathering requirements is desired
- Experience with implementing IT technical solutions and process improvements in a Financial Services organization a plus
- This is an exempt-level position whereby business needs will dictate the exact work schedule, which should be expected to vary at times.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required, including overtime hours as business demands dictate
- Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
- The position does not require travel, although traveling opportunities may arise
- While performing the essential duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:
- Remain in a stationary position up to 100% of the work day
- Constantly operate a computer and other standard office equipment
- Talk and hear to exchange accurate information
- Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading
