United States Field Team Director

Purpose: Represent the Global Leadership Network (GLN) to leaders and organizations in the United States.  Build strategic relationships to further the Global Leadership Network mission and vision. Manage and direct the execution of achieving of attendance and financial goals at assigned Global Leadership Summit locations / regions and related initiatives in collaboration with Global Leadership Network United States Field Team.

 

Global Leadership Network (GLN) is a nonprofit organization located in South Barrington, Illinois.  Our purpose is to introduce more people to Jesus and fully follow Him.  We accomplish this by serving pastors and equipping churches in order to inspire Kingdom-oriented leaders around the world through the Global Leadership Summit and other leadership development resources.

The Global Leadership Summit is attended by 60,000 leaders in 400 sites (primarily churches) throughout the United States.  The Summit is translated into 50 languages and held in over 800 sites in 110 countries reaching over 240,000 international leaders from September to April.

 

Job Status: Full-Time; Regular, Exempt

Position Team: United States Field Team (USFT)

Reports to: SVP Church and Market Engagement

Hybrid Work Schedule: This position currently has a hybrid schedule which includes working from a home office and travelling to serve host sites, as well as to the South Barrington Office up to four times annually for staff training and development.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build strategic relationships with Pastors.
  • Engage targeted churches, businesses, non-profits, etc., to grow GLN/Summit participation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to churches / businesses / non-profits /influencers.
  • Resolve emerging problems creatively and within parameters.
  • Willingness to travel 100-125 days per year.
  • Develop and nurture strategic relationships with local church leaders, key ministry influencers, business, and non-profit leaders, etc., and regional / national networks per designated region.
  • Oversee, manage, inspire, and communicate regularly with assigned Host Site Summit Point Leaders and Promotional Strategists—this group comprises the team members you lead.
  • Implement plans to achieve annual attendance and financial goals in support of organizational strategy and objectives.
  • Initiate and facilitate the development and ongoing activities of specific Host Site Teams, Regional Steering Committees, etc.
  • Collaborate synergistically with GLN USFT members to share best practices / learnings—e.g., helping hone and develop Summit Partner Churches, etc.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the position’s manager.
  • Actively participate in one-on-one meetings with manager, team meetings, all-staff meetings, and cross-functional meetings, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to connect and communicate well with Senior Pastors, Executive Pastors, church staff leaders, small group leaders and other Christian leaders as well as business, civic, education, health, and non-profit leaders.
  • Enjoys fast and deep research looking at hundreds of potential opportunities to connect with leaders across an assigned region.
  • Familiarity with GLN events, resources, membership, and related teams / ministries
  • Understanding of the broad church / ministry world—i.e., denominational strengths, differences, and peccadilloes; national and regional evangelical Christian organizations / networks, etc. 
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce
  • A vital relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and an active participant of a local church that holds to a historic, orthodox understanding of biblical Christianity.

 

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:

  • Previous Global Leadership Summit attendance.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in sales and marketing of a leadership event or experience.
  • Minimum Associates or Undergraduate Degree (preferred).

Salary : $68,000 - $85,000
