Job Title: High School ESOL Paraprofessional (Bilingual – Spanish Required)

Job Type: Full-Time | 10-Month Position
Salary: Starting at $18.00 per hour
Job Summary:
Global Leadership Academy is seeking a dedicated, bilingual (English/Spanish) High School ESOL Paraprofessional to support English Language Learners (ELLs) in the classroom. The ESOL Paraprofessional works under the direction of teachers and school administrators to provide instructional, language, and classroom support that helps multilingual students achieve academic success while developing English proficiency. The ideal candidate is patient, culturally responsive, and committed to helping students thrive in a rigorous high school environment. ESOL paraprofessionals commonly provide instructional support, translation, and communication assistance for multilingual learners under the supervision of certified staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide instructional support to English Language Learners in general education and ESOL classrooms.
Assist students with classwork, assignments, projects, note-taking, and test preparation.
Reinforce teacher-led instruction through small group and one-on-one support.
Translate and interpret between English and Spanish for students, parents, and staff as needed.
Assist teachers in communicating classroom expectations, assignments, and school information to Spanish-speaking families.
Support students in developing English language skills while maintaining high academic expectations.
Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and administrators.
Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Assist with classroom organization, instructional materials, and technology.
Provide supervision during arrival, dismissal, lunch, testing, field trips, and other school activities as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
Participate in professional development and required school trainings.
Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or designee.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree, 60 college credit hours, or successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment preferred.
Fluent in both English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) required.
Experience working with multilingual learners or high school students preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, students, and families.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to adapt to changing classroom needs and work independently.
